ES:Incremental Discussions Crawl Creates New Index (Doc ID 2475909.1)

Last updated on MARCH 12, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 12.2.1.3.181015 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a user is performing incremental discussions crawl, it creates two discussions indexes and Elasticseach stops working with no errors.

Example:

Run the Incremental Crawl as mentioned below.
http://<HOSTNAME>:<PORT>/webcenter
-> Administration
-> Tools and Services
-> Search
-> Scheduler (tab)
-> Edit Discussions Scheduler
Ensure that the Frequency is set to "Manual Launch" and that the Policy is "Process Items That Have Changed" and press "Save and Close" or "Cancel" as appropriate (the above is the default).
-> Press that "||> Start" button next to the Discussions Crawler Source.

Only after restarting and doing FULL indexing does the functionality properly work (ie, only one index for Discussions).
