January 2018 PSU racks have Infiniband Switch firmware version 2.2.8-2. There is following known Bug with ILOM service in Infiniband switch firmware.

Due to above Bug Infiniband Development have removed the 2.2.8-2 firmware version bits from MOS. So 2.2.8-2 firmware version cannot be downloaded and installed on any new replacement switches. So for any Infiniband switches which have to replaced in January 2018 PSU rack, Firmware version 2.2.9-3 has to be installed instead of 2.2.8-2.

Following are the high level steps which needs to be done for replacing the Infiniband Switch with firmware 2.2.8-2 in Exalogic January 2018 PSU rack.

1. Oracle Field team will install the Firmware version 2.2.9-3 on the new replacement switches for Exalogic January 2018 PSU racks.
   
   
2. Configuration of the newly replaced Infiniband switch with firmware 2.2.9-3 has been restored. Since the exabr backup of failed switch in January 2018 PSU rack was taken when it had firmware 2.2.8 and since the firmware after the replacement is 2.2.9-3 the exabr restore may not work to restore the switch configuration. So the Switch configuration has to be manually restored.
   
   
3. After the replacement switch configuration is restored the firmware version of the other Infiniband switches in Exalogic rack will also have to be upgraded to firmware 2.2.9-3.
