Why Font Figures and Metrics on Java SE 11 are Different from Previous Java SE Versions? (Doc ID 2485511.1)

Symptoms

Some font figures and metrics are shown differently on Java SE 11 than on Java SE 10 and earlier versions.
As an example, java.awt.FontMetrics#getAscent() on Java SE 11 returns a different value compare to Java SE 10 for "OCRB" font.

Changes

T2K font rasterizer has been removed from Java SE 11. This is described in Oracle JDK Migration Guide Release 11.
