ODI 12c OdiPurgeLog Tool Does Not Work with "Name" Filter (Doc ID 2493390.1)

Last updated on APRIL 16, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.3.0, a Package has been configured which makes use of the OdiPurgeLog tool to purge Session executions from ODI Studio.

After configuring and executing the tool with a "Name" filter (i.e. delete all Sessions with a specific name), the tool execution completes successfully.  There are no errors presented in the Operator tab.

However, in looking at the list of Sessions, those which were supposed to be deleted by the OdiPurgeLog tool are not deleted.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Execute a job using the OdiPurgeLog tool. An example of the generated syntax is as follows:

    OdiPurgeLog "-PURGE_TYPE=SESSION" "-USER_NAME=<USER_NAME>" "-NAME=<SESSION_NAME>" "-PURGE_REPORTS=YES" "-ARCHIVE=NO"

  2. Observe that the Sessions with <SESSION_NAME> are not purged from the ODI Studio -> Operator tab as they should be.
