Scenario is not Imported into ODI when using Smart Import Mode
(Doc ID 2503117.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 04, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.2.6 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Two Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12c environments has been configured (Environment A and Environment B).
The ODI objects in Environment B were initially imported from Environment A without Scenarios.
Next, a Smart Export file from Environment A which contains a Project Folder with Procedures and their Scenarios was imported into Environment B. During this operation, the Scenarios appeared to not be imported.
In the Smart Import wizard, both the Folders in the "Projects" and "Load Plans and Scenarios" sections have the action "Merge". Procedures are in "Overwrite", while all the Scenarios have only the "Create copy" option as they don’t exist in Environment B yet.
In the Smart Import report, it can be observed how duplicated Scenarios are created, but then deleted. For example:
- In the "Create Copy Imported Objects" report section, the Scenario “TEST SCEN Version 001” having the "Object ID"=XXX is imported with a "Duplicated Object ID"=YYY.
- In the "Deleted Objects" report section, the scenario “TEST SCEN Version 001” with the "Object ID"=YYY is deleted.
