Import of ODI Object using startcmd.sh Fails with "Error while running ODI Tool OdiImportObject" (Doc ID 2504076.1)

Symptoms

Trying to import Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) objects exported from another environment using the startcmd.sh command line script with OdiImportObject fails.

$ startcmd.sh -INSTANCE=<agent_name> OdiImportObject -FILE_NAME=<path>/EXPORTED_ARCHIVE.zip -IMPORT_MODE=SYNONYM_INSERT -WORK_REP_NAME=<workrepname>
2018-11-12 15:23:40.648 ERROR Executing: OdiImportObject "-FILE_NAME=<path>/EXPORTED_ARCHIVE.zip" "-IMPORT_MODE=SYNONYM_INSERT -WORK_REP_NAME=<workrepname>"
