WebCenter Portal Analytics Counts Logout events as Logins (Doc ID 2507387.1)

Symptoms


ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

WebCenter Portal Analytics Counts Logout events as Logins.


When a user does login to WebCenter Portal you can see Login metrics count increased by 1 as expected.
But when the same user does logout you can see the Login metrics count increased by 1 which is not expected.



EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expect to see Login counts increased only when user does login , not Logout.


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

 

  1. Connect to Webcenter Portal as an administrator user.
     
    • Go to the user profile page

    • From the gear icon next to the user name and select Personalize

    • Select to display the Analytics page

    • Select the Analytics page

    • In the Summary Metrics Tab select: Logins

    • Select the icon to show the data in tabular format

    • Select:

      Display: Logins

    • Expand Time Frame and select:

      Date Range: Today

    • Expand Grouping Options and select:
       
      Group By: User Property
      Property: IM User

    • Click "Refresh Data"

    • Note down the initial state
      For example:
       
                             Logins
      wcadmin              9

    • Keep this session open


  2. In a separate browser connect to WebCenter Portal as testuser1.
    Keep this session open.


  3. Get back to the session with Analytics Page and click Refresh Data.
    Note the number of logins for testuser1 increased by 1 as expected.
     
                           Logins
       wcadmin              9
       testuser1             1


  4. Get back to the session for testuser1 and logout.

  5. Get back to the session with Analytics Page and click Refresh Data.
    Note the number of logins for testuser1 increased by 1 when the user did Logout.
    This is NOT expected. (THIS IS THE ISSUE)
     
                           Logins
       wcadmin              9
       testuser1             2
