Symptoms

In Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12c, when adding a Scenario to a Package and the parameter "Synchronous / Asynchronous" is set to either "Synchronous Mode" or "Asynchronous Mode", the Scenario's "Used by" no longer shows the Package.

To reproduce:

  1. Create a Scenario, version 001.

  2. Create a Package, add Scenario version 001. Save.
--> the "Used by" of the Scenario version 001 shows the Package, as expected.

  3. In the Package, edit the Scenario step. In the "Properties" "Parameter" at the bottom of the screen, set "Synchronous / Asynchronous" to "Synchronous Mode". Save.
--> Unexpectedly, the "Used by" of Scenario version 001 no longer lists the Package.

  4. In the Package, edit the Scenario step. In the "Properties" "Parameter" at the bottom of the screen, set "Synchronous / Asynchronous" to "Asynchronous Mode". Save.
--> Unexpectedly, the "Used by" of Scenario version 001 does not list the Package.

  5. In the Package, edit the Scenario step. In the "Properties" "Parameter" at the bottom of the screen, unset "Synchronous / Asynchronous" and select "". Save.
--> As expected, the "Used by" of Scenario version 001 now lists the Package.
