Not Able To Start OHS 12.2.1.3 After Having Rolled Back OHS Bundle Patch 29058843 (Doc ID 2510114.1)

Last updated on JULY 28, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle HTTP Server - Version 12.2.1.3.0 to 12.2.1.3.0 [Release 12c]
Linux x86-64
Patch 29058843 (OHS AND PLUGIN (NATIVE) BUNDLE PATCH 12.2.1.3.181217 ) is applied and then rolled back.
OHS no longer starts after rollback of patch 29058843.

Symptoms

On Oracle HTTP Server 12.2.1.3.0 version for Linux x86_64, OHS instances are not able to be started after having applied <patch 29058843> (p29058843_122130_Linux-x86-64.zip) and then having subsequently rolled back.

The reason for rollback may be as result of <bug 29230338> which occurs when <patch 29058843> is applied affecting use of SSL with the Apache Proxy (mod_proxy).

Re-applying of <patch 29058843> after rollback results in OHS instances again being able to be started, however one is left with the impacts of <bug 29230338>.

Changes

No particular changes are made other than applying of <patch 29058843> as per it's patch README.
