WFR Installation Does Not Allow "Database server name" Of More Than 62 Characters (Doc ID 2528020.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 29, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Forms Recognition - Version 11.1.1.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

During a WFR 11.1.1.9.0 installation, there is a step that asks for the "Database server name". This text box has a length restriction of about 62 characters and will not allow for entering more characters than that. This prevents the installation from proceeding. For example, when attempting to provide a connection string of:

mydatabaseserver.aaaaaaaa01.prod.oracleabc.com:1521@compny.aaaaaaaa01.prod.oracleabc.com

It will stop accepting characters after:

mydatabaseserver.aaaaaaaa01.prod.oracleabc.com:1521@compny.ora

The installation cannot proceed past this point.  How can this be resolved?

Changes

This is a new install of WFR.
