Goal
How to monitor connectivity from a specific WebGate Web server to the OAM Managed Server?
This is not about general availability of the OAM Webgate service on the OAM servers (e.g. Heartbeat Health Check), but the ability of a specific webgate server to successfully connect, from that one webgate server’s perspective, to a specific OAM server. We are currently using a scripted, every minute Telnet to the <OAM_SERVER_PORT_NUM> port. On occasion (1-10 times a day), this will alert on a timeout of the Telnet. This does not appear to be indicative of any issue with the webgate connectivity. In essence, it’s a false alarm.
