Symptoms

During application deployment, the following exception is received when using ojdbc8.jar and JDK 7:

SystemErr R java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: JVMCFRE003 bad major version; class=oracle/jdbc/xa/client/OracleXADataSource, offset=6
SystemErr R at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClassImpl(Native Method)
