Specifying Multiple Illegal Password Values for an OID Password Policy via ODSM (required formattting) (Doc ID 2548350.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 30, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1.9.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Issue: Attempting to specify Multiple "Illegal Password" Values for an OID Password Policy via Oracle Directory Services Manager (ODSM).

Situation Description

 - An OID Password Policy is ignored, when adding more than one value into the Illegal Password Values entry box via ODSM using commas (i.e. comma separated), as specified via the on-screen instructions from the ODSM interface.

 - If just adding one value this is working, as per the following oracle documentation:

Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide for Oracle Internet Directory (11.1.1.9.0)

Chapter - 29 Managing Password Policies

Primary Enquiry

- Why is the Policy behaving in this way(?), and how can multiple illegal values be specified for a Policy (and therefore to be restricted by a such a Password Policy)?
