Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 12c and Directory Integration Platform (DIP).

DIP OID to Novell eDirectory export synchronization profile works both via non-ssl and via ssl configuration with regular attributes mapped.

But using SSL configuration as required for password sync, when adding the default userpassword attribute mapping of:

userpassword:::person:userpassword::person:

The profile fails validation with error:

Invalid return type of the attribute mapping rule - ''string'', the destination attribute ''userpassword'' requires a ''binary''

And DIP log error:
