(Doc ID 256923.1)
Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 9.0.2.0.0 and laterOracle HTTP Server - Version 9.0.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Purpose
Explain the differences between the Port and Listen directives and their use in a default Oracle Application Server installation.
Scope
Whenever Oracle Application Server configuration is changed or components need to be (re)registered there is a need to know about HTTP Server port layout. Users not familiar with HTTP port layout can easily mix up the meanings of the Port and Listen directives in httpd.conf, which are set to different values in a default installation, so this bulletin is meant to explain the difference.
