Mod_plsql is Not Removing Temporary Files After Being Uploaded to the Database

Symptoms
Several temporary files (with extension .a) are getting created under the <Domain_Home>/servers/<OHS_Component>/plsql/<VALUE> directory.
mod_plsql is being used to upload files to the Database. Command 'ls' of the above directory shows multiple files with .a extension.
