Last updated on MAY 15, 2023

Applies to:

JDBC - Version 12.2.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.2.0.1.0 version, Thin JDBC driver

The following error is reported at the database side:

ORA-03146: Invalid buffer length for TTC field

It looks like the server sees a bad length --> [154],  and this is coming from JDBC Thin client that causes the server side TTC to misinterpret it.

From the server side trace, it is seen that the communication is coming from a JDBC client:

  client details:
O/S info: user: <USER>, term: unknown, ospid: <OSPID>
machine: <HOSTNAME> program: JDBC Thin Client
application name: JDBC Thin Client >>>>
