Golden Gate Extract Abends with 'Missing archive log file' Even Though Archivelog Is Available

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Even though archivelog is available and in registered status, Extract keeps on abending with error like below:
When restarted, the extract moves ahead the problematic archive log and extracts for sometime and then again hangs for some hours and abends on different archive log. This process continues for integrated extract but classic extract works fine
