WebLogic Managed Server Log File Retention is Not Working as Expected (Doc ID 2588101.1)

Symptoms

Managed server logs are only retaining the count of files which is marked in 'File to Retain box', though the flag is set to false in the console.
This leads to loss of managed server logs.

Log files are expected to accumulate.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Set Limit number of retained files to false
2. Set Files to retain to 14
3. Observe retained files stay at 14
