Database Links in Filter Condition Disappear in Generated Code After Upgrade from ODI 11g To 12.2.1.3 (Doc ID 2589167.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 20, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After upgrading from Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 11g to 12.2.1.3, the database links in a Filter Condition disappear in the generated code. For example, consider following statement in Filter condition:

SALARY BETWEEN (select SAL from Schema.Table_name@DBLINK_NAME WHERE join_dt=(SELECT to_char(sysdate-6,'IYYYIW') FROM DUAL)) AND (select SALY from Schema.Table@DBLINK_NAME WHERE dt=(SELECT to_char(sysdate-6,'IYYYIW') FROM DUAL))

The above condition has a reference to a remote table via a data warehouse database link. The interface worked in ODI 11g. However, after the upgrade to ODI 12.2.1.3, execution of the mapping fails with an ORA-00942 error because it does not find the table through the database link.

In the generated code the references to the Database Link have been removed. The condition in the SQL operation is:

[. . .]
SALARY BETWEEN (select SAL from Schema.Table_name WHERE join_dt=(SELECT to_char(sysdate-6,'IYYYIW') FROM DUAL)) AND (select SALY from Schema.Table WHERE dt=(SELECT to_char(sysdate-6,'IYYYIW') FROM DUAL))
[. . .]
