Enterprise Capture Client Cannot Import Non-Image Files with Error "Error exporting page to file"

Symptoms
The Capture Client generates an error every time a non-image file is imported. This has been tested with a variety of PDF's, DOC's, etc. and all fail.
Error:
ice.driver.ImageCaptureDriverException: Error exporting page to file {C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\4\oddc<doc_number>.imp}
Each time the operation is attempted, the Windows Application Event Logs show errors containing the following information:
Faulting application name: CaptureOITExport.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x55f21229
Faulting module name: MSVCR120.dll, version: 6.3.9600.18895, time stamp: 0x5a4b127e
Faulting module name: MSVCR120.dll, version: 6.3.9600.18895, time stamp: 0x5a4b127e
