Goal
When uploading documents in WebCenter Portal using the Content Manager Task Flow you can restrict the file types allowed for upload using a content server rule.
If a user attempts to upload a restricted file the following error message is displayed:
Error Error executing WebCenter Content service 'CHECKIN_NEW': The content item was not successfully checked in. csDpSideEffects(FileUploadTypes) Error evaluating server script expression. Uploaded file type(s) not permitted. Only the following file types are permitted for upload: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, CSV (comma-separated values) and Text. (status code: -1, message key: !csUnableToCheckInContentItem!csDpSideEffects,FileUploadTypes!csDynHTMLServerScriptEvalError!$ Uploaded file type(s) not permitted. Only the following file types are permitted for upload: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, CSV (comma-separated values) and Text.)
The goal of this document is to show how to display a customized Error Message when uploading restricted document types.
For example, instead of the above error you might want to display a simplified error message like the one bellow:
Error: The content item was not successfully checked in. Uploaded file type(s) not permitted. Only the following file types are permitted for upload: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, CSV (comma-separated values) and Text.
