Exalogic Virtual: EoIB Bond Eth Slave Interface Continuously Going Down & UP On Guest vServers (Doc ID 2596251.1)

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual rack, Issue of EoIB bond slave eth slave interface going down and up every minute is noticed on Guest vServers. When this issue happens problem of dropped packets, communication issues over EoIB bonds of Guest vServers is noticed.

EoIB bond on Guest vServer has 2 slave interfaces (corresponding to each IB switch) with naming convention starting with ethX. When the issue happens we will notice one or both the slaves going down and up continuously.

Below are messages we see in /var/log/messages of Guest vServer which shows ethX slave interface going down and up continuously. In this snippet eth648_1.322 EoIB slave interface is interface 1 which corresponds to Infiniband Gateway switch 1.
