Reports Server Cache Output is Written to Oracle Home Bin Rather Than CacheDir (Doc ID 259967.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 02, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Reports Developer - Version 6.0.8.26 to 9.0.4.0 [Release 6i to Oracle9i]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In the Reports Server conf file the parameter cacheDir has been set e.g

Reports 6i - report_server_name.ora

cachedir=d:\ORACLE_HOME\reports60\server\cache

Reports 9i - report_server_name.conf

property name="cacheDir" value="ORACLE_HOME/reports/cache"

A reports request is made with destype=cache. The generated output is expected in the cacheDir but instead it is being written to the Oracle Home bin ( $ORACLE_HOME/bin ) directory.
