Oggbd- gg.schema.sortColumnsStrategy=columnName corrupts values for the primary key columns in the message key (Doc ID 2604928.1)

Last updated on MAY 21, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle GoldenGate Application Adapters - Version 12.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The option to sort columns results in the invalid values for the primary key
columns in the message key

BDA replicat KafkaConnect adapter is configured to include primary key(s) to
the message keys as in:
gg.handler.kafkaconnect.keyMappingTemplate=${schemaName}/${primaryKeys[/]}

The message stored in the Kafka topic has a message key that includes a value
different from the primary key value.
It seems to be a result of using the option to sort the columns
(gg.schema.sortColumnsStrategy) while Replicat prepares the message for
Kafka.
gg.schema.sortColumnsStrategy=columnName
