Is it possible to run SOA Suite with a new soainfra repository (RCU)?

We have a SOA Suite environment in which auto purge is not effective at removing old composites instances. So we thought of running the truncate_soa_oracle.sql script to eliminate these old instances, but as it is a productive environment, we want an alternative in case something goes wrong during truncate and the environment goes down. Is it possible to create a new repository for soainfra and use it according to the procedure below?

1. Run RCU and create a new schema for SOA Infrastructure.
2. Shutdown managed SOA servers.
3. Change target from SOADataSource, SOALocalTxDataSource, EDNDataSource, and EDNLocalTxDataSource datasources to the newly created schema.
4. Start the managed SOA servers.
