Capabilities of the Windows and Universal Decoders in the WebCenter Enterprise Capture Recognition Processor (Doc ID 2615477.1)

Symptoms

WebCenter Enterprise Capture (version 12.2.1.3) on Oracle Linux 7 was recently installed.  In a previous 11.1.1.8 installation, Capture was installed on a Windows Server 2012.  It has been noticed that in the 12c version on Linux, there is no option for Auto detect bar code.

While barcode functionality exists for both installations, there is a major difference in the Recognition Processor setting of 11.1.1.8 versus that of 12.2.1.3:

Auto-Detect functionality is present in 11.1.1.8 version but is missing in 12.2.1.3.
