Embedded References Aren't Logged As Cache Dependencies (Doc ID 2615696.1)

Last updated on MAY 27, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Sites - Version 11.1.1.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 11.1.1.8.0 version, WebCenter Sites

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Using Include Asset tool of CKEditor to embed other assets. When the embedded asset is ammended and published to Delivery env., the changes aren't reflecting on the page (to which it is embedded).
Upon further investigation, it is found that the embedded references haven't been logged as dependencies on Delivery env., though it is logged fine on Management/Staging env.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
The page should reflect changes to the embedded asset

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
  a. Embed an asset (like PDF/Image) on to the CKEditor based attribute of an (e.g. Page) asset (which renders a page).
  b. Publish both the embedded asset (e.g. PDF/Image) and the asset to which it is embedded (e.g. Page).
  c. Now, amend the embedded asset (e.g. PDF/Image) (and change few attribute values which are being rendered) and publish to delivery instance.
  d. Now, if you preview the asset (e.g. Page) to which embedding was made, it won't render the latest amendments made to the embedded asset (e.g. PDF/Image).
