Exalogic Virtual: IPoIB Networks Media Type Shown As EoIB (Instead of Infiniband) In EMOC Leading To Network Issues On Newly Created vServers (Doc ID 2616046.1)

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual racks, issue of newly IPoIB networks showing as EoIB networks in EMOC is noticed.

This can be be confirmed by clicking going to Networks accordion on the left hand side and clicking on the IPoIB networks.

Following the screenshot from EMOC which shows IPoIB vserver shared storage network Mediate Type as EoIB instead of Infiniband.

This issue can happen any of the IPoIB networks and not just to IPoIB vserver shared storage network.

Because of this issue any newly created vServers from EMOC using the affected Infiniband networks will have network issues. Network bond files are not created correctly and networks do not work on the newly created vservers.

Issue mentioned in this Note can happen on all Exalogic Virtual releases 2.0.6.X.
