Problem Populating The DDL History Table For Golden Gate V19.1.0.4 For DB2 12.1 Z/OS (Doc ID 2616680.1)

Last updated on APRIL 17, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle GoldenGate - Version 19.1.0.0.3 to 19.1.0.0.3 [Release 12.3]
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

I have created the Golden Gate V19.1.0.4 history table in Db2 for Zos using the scripts SQL provided. When I run the first insert query to populate the DDL_HIST_NEW table the Insert fails with message : SQLCODE = -407, ERROR: AN UPDATE, INSERT, OR SET VALUE IS NULL, BUT THE OBJECT COLUMN CANNOT CONTAIN NULL VALUES.

I have selected the data using DSNTEP2 in a job and data is selected but in reviewing that data I see that the column C.DEFAULTVALUE from SYSIBM.SYSCOLUMNS has null values in some of the rows.

I will attach 2 jobs, one which is the failing insert and one that just issues the select statement for the data that the failing query is trying to insert.

Please advise on how I should address this issue so the DDL history table can be successfully populated.

I have extracted the SQL from the script ddl_update.sh and converted them to batch jobs.
