OSB Server Unresponsive due to issue with XMLBeans/Xquery

We had an issue where one of our two production OSB servers became unresponsive. At approximately 10:05am EST, several services started to slow down. In the access.log file, they were running in less than a second, but then started taking 10-15 seconds and by the end, some were taking 2-3 minutes to complete. At 10:17am we killed the OSB server process because we were unable to access the weblogic console to shut it down gracefully. Attached are two thread dumps that were taken at 10:16 and 10:17 just before the server was killed. We would like to know what the root cause was and how we can prevent this from happening in the future.
