After migrate SQL Server using SQL Developer All Table Names and Column Names Are Uppercase (Doc ID 2620610.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 16, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle SQL Developer - Version 19.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

After a SQL Server database migration to Oracle database via Oracle SQL Developer, each column and table was UPPERCASE.

When testing the application, it was failing with error -

ORA-00904: "element_name": invalid identifier

The reason for this error is that in the migrated database all table names and column names are uppercase. In the source database they are lowercase. The query forces case sensitivity by putting the double quotes around the column name "element_name".
