Remote Satellite Server Vanity URL Not Working

We installed a standalone RSS.

Issue is that the following url is not working: http://rsshost:8080/ss/Sites?lookuppage=/testurl&lookuphost=/ whereas the WCS url works fine: http://wcshost:8080/sites/Sites?lookuppage=/testurl&lookuphost=/
but the Satellite url works fine for e.g. http://rsshost:8080/ss/Satellite?pagename=Test

When we checked logs: there is no entry in access.log or sites.log after setting TRACE:16 in logging-config.xml for this url --> http://rss:8080/ss/Sites?lookuppage=testurl&lookuphost=/
We don't understand how we can resolve this.

In the RSS sites.log, the following exception is seen:
