oidldapd Processes Fails to Start With gsluwpwaGetWalletPasswd Error (Doc ID 263808.1)

Last updated on MARCH 06, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 9.0.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

There are two related sets of errors that can be encountered that have related solutions. These are described below:

SCENARIO 1:
After moving 9.2.0.3 OID to RAC on Tru64 5.1A, oidmon starts but oidctl fails to start with:

     OiD LDAP server started.
gsluwpwaGetWalletPasswd: Opening 1 file failed with error 11005
Error reading repl passwd from wallet in gslfLoadDSE
Could not Load Initial data (LoadDSE) in Main

oidmon.log shows:

Duplicate while inserting in Hash Table.

Comparing the original and new OID directories and files, it is found that the file oidpwdr does not exist on the new system:

     ls -l $ORACLE_HOME/ldap/admin/oidpwdr
     -rw------- 1 oracle system 16 Apr 18 2002 <OID_ORACLE_HOME_DIR>/ldap/admin/oidpwdr

SCENARIO 2:
The OIDMON process fails to start in a RAC environment with:

gsluwpwaGetWalletPasswd: Opening 2 file failed with error 11005
[gslusw]:Error reading 'ods' passwd from wallet
[gsdsiConnect]:Error reading 'ods' passwd from wallet
[oidmon]: Unable to connect to database, will retry again after 20 sec

In this case, oidpasswd was successfully run on one RAC node, and OID can be started on that node. The problem lies with the other nodes

Checking the OID $ORACLE_HOME/ldap/admin directory, the file oidpwdlldap1 exists only on the node where oidpasswd was run.
