Goal

The aim of this article is to show how to configure Windows Native Authentication (WNA) for OracleAS 10g version 9.0.4 on a Unix or Linux server. It provides step by step instructions and contains sample files in order to show what the configuration files should look like.
This article does not show how to configure Oracle Internet Directory ( OID ) to Active Directory (AD) synchronization, which is a prerequisite to configuring WNA.
See also Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On Administrator's Guide 10g (9.0.4) Chapter 8 Windows Native Authentication.
For Windows platform see Note:282074.1 Configuring Windows Native Authentication for Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4) on Window.

This note really only applies directly to version 9.0.4, for later versions see <note 338560.1>.
As the changes made to configuration files automatically in later versions are more or less the same as shown here this note can be used as troubleshooting guide for checking configurations in any version up to version 10.1.4.
