Installing a patch to resolve one issue causes another issue
We are currently setting up a new 12c environment to upgrade from 11g. During the install we experienced Bug 27406356. To resolve this issue we tried applying a patch to resolve this issue 30154206, and it ended up causing another issue so we rolled back the patch. So we tried applying other patches that are supposed to resolve this issue but have fewer bugfixes, hoping that a less impactful patch would fix our issue without introducing new issues, but still the same error occurs. The second patch we tried was 28527521, and then rolled it back do to the introduction of new issue.
The new issue we're encountering after patching is the inability to view PDFs in the non-ADF WCC UI in most browsers (example: click on the web-viewable link of a PDF document on a Doc_info page). The only browser we were able to get working after patching was FireFox. We experienced PDF issues in Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Opera. While experiencing this issue, we could see errors in the browser console that mentioned being unable to display the PDF due to the iFrame being sandboxed.
We either need a targeted patch to resolve Bug 27406356 without introducing new bugs, or a fix to the PDF viewer issue after one of the other patches is applied.
