Attempting to login to WebCenter Portal after upgrading OAM from 11g to 12c fails with Internal Error (Doc ID 2649551.1)

Symptoms

Attempting to login to WebCenter Portal after upgrading OAM from 11g to 12c fails with Internal Error.

Login with OAM works with all other applications except Webcenter Portal.

ERROR

Internal Error (WCS#YYYY.MM.DD.HH.MI.SS)

 

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

 

  1. Access the WebCenter Portal URL.
    You shold get the WebCenter portal home page.

  2. Attempt to login.
    Here you will get the error.

  3. Access the WebCenter Portal URL again.
    You will see the user was authenticated despite the error.
