Difference in Memory Consumption Pattern Observed When Checking from WebLogic Server Admin Console and Putty Session (Doc ID 2664794.1)

Symptoms

Checking heap consumption trends for servers using two different ways

  1. By logging into WebLogic Admin Console and navigating to Domain >> Servers >> Managed Server >> Monitoring >> Performance and checking the heap stats from that page.
  2. By logging into Putty session, running the top command and checking the memory consumed by the WebLogic server process ID.

There is a difference in the consumption pattern for both the cases
