When configuring OSB 12c REST Adapter and providing $filter as param name it is erroring out with the following message.

string value '$filter' does not match pattern for xs:NMTOKEN
Value of attribute name not of NMTOKEN type

The value must be of the following type:

Type Name: NMTOKEN
Primitive Type: string

With the following constraints:

matching the pattern: \c+
