Capturing Client IP Addresses Fails with the Error "java.net.UnknownHostException: <CLIENT IP>: Name or service not known" (Doc ID 2667049.1)

Symptoms

After upgrading the operating system from RHEL 7.6 to 7.7, client IP address is not written to Weblogic access log file and debug log shows the below errors:

 The request flow is as below:

Browser ---- Load Balancer ---- Weblogic.

 

Also, RHEL 7.7 uses glibc version 292 and if glibc is downgraded to 260 which is the same as RHEL 7.6, client IP is written to logs without any problem.

 

 

Changes

The operating system has been upgraded from RHEL 7.6 to 7.7.
