How to Have IP Address for SALT Clients (Doc ID 2669279.1)

Last updated on MAY 22, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Service Architecture Leveraging Tuxedo (SALT) - Version 12.2.2 to 12.2.2 [Release 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Tuxedo service need to get client IP address for remote clients.

For Tuxedo /WS clients or Jolt clients, the client IP address is available in T_CLIENT MIB class, in TA_NADDR field.

When SALT clients the T_CLIENT class is populated however fields (including TA_NADDR) are empty.

User can use META INFO to provide custom fields in HTTP header, fields TA_HTTP_HEADER_NAME and TA_HTTP_HEADER_VALUE but no guarantee that IP address set is the real client IP.

Changes

Same behavior for all SALT releases.
