Exalogic Virtual 2.0.6.4.X: Infiniband Networks Stalling & Not Responding On OL6 / OL7 OTD Guest VMs (Doc ID 2675329.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 16, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.4.0 and later
Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual racks running with 2.0.6.4.X Virtual PSUs, Issue of Infiniband Networks not working and stalling on OL6 & OL7 Guest vServers is noticed.

For OTD VM's, failover groups were setup and VIPs were configured using keepalived configuration on EoIB and Private IPoIB vNets. With OTD setup of failover groups and VIP configuration, when system is under load we intermittently notice that the EoIB and IPoIB private vNet bonds (on which VIPs were configured for OTD failover groups to work) do not respond.

NOTE: Issue described in this MOS note can happen on non OTD VMs as well.

Changes

No changes. Systems with more load/traffic on OTD VMs are more susceptible to the problem mentioned in this MOS Note.
