Exalogic Virtual 2.0.6.4.X: Communication Between Dom0 Compute Nodes & Guest/Exalogic Control vServers Not Working Over IPoIB Networks (Doc ID 2675954.1)

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual 2.0.6.4.X racks, issue of communication between Dom0 Compute Nodes and Guest/Exalogic Control vServers EC1, PC1 & PC2 is observed. At the time of the issue we notice that from Dom0 Compute node communication to few Guest vServers or Exalogic Control vServers does not work both the ways (Dom0 to VM & VM to Dom0) on specific IPoIB bond like IPoIB virt admin, vserver shared storage etc.

Because of this issue, we may notice following issues.

• Affected Dom0 Compute node not shown as not running from OVM Manager BUI console if EMOC/OVMM EC1 control vServer is not able to reach affected Dom0 compute node over IPoIB virt admin network.
• ELLC tools like Exabr, Exapatch failing if they are executed using IPoIB addresses of VMs from affected Dom0 Compute Node and if there is issue communication issue between Dom0 node and VMs over IPoIB addresses (used by ELLC tools).

Changes

 Restarting few vServers or Exalogic Control vServers on different compute nodes other than the compute nodes where they were originally running often leads to the problem mentioned in this Note.
