ORA-20018: REST Schema Name Must Be A Simple Uppercase Unquoted Literal (Doc ID 2678509.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to access RESTful Services from APEX, the following error occurs.

Schema not registered with ORDS

This schema has not been registered with ORDS RESTful Data Services. To register this schema click Register Schema with ORDS.

and when user try to register with ORDS they gets below error


ORA-20018: REST schema name must be a simple uppercase unquoted literal



STEPS
-----------------------
1. Login to APEX
2. Select 'SQL Workshop' drop-down and select 'RESTful Services' option.
3. This brings up the pop-up message "Schema not registered with ORDS.
This schema has not been registered with ORDS RESTful Data Services. To register this schema click Register Schema with ORDS.
4. Click the 'Register Schema with ORDS' button.
5. Enter Schema Alias and other information and click 'Save Schema Attributes'.
6. Gets error message as below:

1 error has occured.
* Unable to enable Schema for ORDS RESTful services
ORA-20018: REST schema name must be a simple uppercase unquoted literal
