Newly Created Lucene AssetType Index Folder Contains Files. (Doc ID 2678520.1)

Symptoms

Customer encountered a stale lock file in a Lucene AssetType Search Index.
The AssetType Search Index was deleted and readded.  The folder was empty.
Before running the reindex, files such as the below appeared:
     segments.gen
     segments_5
     _6.cfs
