Possible Applet Hang on Windows 7 after Upgrading to Java 8u261 (Doc ID 2692048.1)

Symptoms

After upgrading to Java 8 Update 261 32-bit on Windows 7, applets hang with Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11).

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. Install Java 8 Update 261 32-bit
  2. Run uninstallapplet.jsp
  3. Application hangs
