ESSO-PR Errors After Disabling TLS 1.0 In IE On Windows 10 Clients (Doc ID 2700807.1)

Symptoms

ESSO Password Reset stops working after the TLS 1.0 protocol is disabled in IE on the Windows 10 clients. The users are presented with an error message when accessing the ESSO-PR web site over HTTPS in IE and can no longer enroll or reset their Windows password .

"Cannot securely connect to this page"


STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. Open the IE web browser on a Windows 10 client.
  2. Go to Settings and click on Internet Options.
  3. Click on the Advanced tab.
  4. Scroll down to Security.
  5. Disable TLS 1.0
  6. Click OK to apply the change.
  7. Enter the URL for the ESSO-PR enrollment page with HTTPS.


 

BUSINESS IMPACT
Due to this issue, users cannot access the enrollment or password reset pages in ESSO-PR when TLS 1.0 is disabled in IE. .

 TLS 1.0 is disabled in the IE web browser on the Windows 10 clients.
