Exalogic Virtual: EKIT QuickStart Template for EECS 2.0.6.x.x (Doc ID 2703527.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 05, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.3.0 and later
Linux x86-64
Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.2.170418

Purpose

The current procedure to deploy an EKIT vServer is a very time consuming process consisting of many of manual steps to install perl, java, python, iaas rpms , jdk etc. To ease the user experience, we have created two ready to deploy EKIT templates for both EECS 2.0.6.3.x and 2.0.6.4.x releases. These templates remove approximately 90% of the manual tasks required for EKIT deployment. This templates reduce the time to deploy of EKIT to approximately 45 minutes from several hours.

Scope

The scope of this document is limited to the creation and configuration of an EKIT vServer using a QuickStart template. Information on how to use EKIT can be found in the following document:

Exalogic Kinetic Infrastructure Tools (EKIT): Set of scripts that provide common reusable command line infrastructure actions for Exalogic virtual platforms (Doc ID 1933252.1)

The EKIT templates provided in this MOS note cannot be used in environments running EECS versions older than Apr 2017 PSU (2.0.6.2.170418). For these older environments, please use the EKIT RPM and instructions provided in MOS <Note 1933252.1> to install EKIT.
