Will Disabling Diagnostic Context Improve Performance? (Doc ID 2705069.1)

Goal

Customer reports getting HTTP 400: Bad Request received responses on some outgoing SOAP calls. The suspected culprit is that the header size for those calls is too large.The TCP dump shows that the request header includes an ECID-Context with a large value. Would disabling Diagnostic Context for these requests help to resolve this issue. Can Diagnostic Context be disabled safely? What side effects could there be to disable Diagnostic Context?
