Exalogic: Compute Nodes Getting Disconnected From Infiniband Fabric And Losing IB Networks (Doc ID 2706892.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.4.0 and later
Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64

Symptoms

In Exalogic racks running with 2.0.6.4.X versions (both Physical and Virtual), sometimes we notice that the Compute nodes lose IB Networks and get disconnected from IB Fabric. When this happens all IB network bonds of the Compute nodes do the respond and NFS shares are not seeing (as they are mounted over IB network). In case of Exalogic virtual racks, Guest VMs running on Dom0 compute node go down when the issue happens as /OVS/Repositories NFS share mount point (which is mounted on IB network) becomes unavailable.

Changes

Issue mentioned in this Note likely happens in environments with more load.
